Gratitude and Purpose Project

Practicing gratitude, or reflecting on one’s blessings, naturally inclines individuals to consider how they want to give back and how they want to make personally meaningful contributions to the broader world. In other words, theoretically anyway, cultivating gratitude may serve as an indirect means of fostering purpose. Working in conjunction with the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, this project seeks to test this claim and further investigate the relationship between purpose and gratitude. It also seeks to design and test tools that can be used in the classroom to cultivate both purpose and gratitude.
